How we’re affected by things we take for granted

We all take things for granted; our family, friends, turning on a light switch, etc.

Recently, our 6 year old washing machine starting making noises as if it were going to blow up.  I told my wife to turn it off and call the service warranty company ( I strongly recommend you consider buying a service contract).  The service warranty company were very polite and sent a service technician within 2 days.  He diagnosed the problem and said we needed a new clutch which they would need to order.  We then found out what it was like to not have the washer.  Several trips to the Laundromat with rolls of quarters was not my idea of a great day. Finally, one week later they called (my wife was very happy) and told us the part arrived and the service tech would be at our house on Saturday.  Well, yesterday he came and replaced the clutch. We were very happy.  Wait-it wasn’t fixed.  After more than 2 hours he told us they would need to replace the entire tub, agitator, etc. and it would take another week.   Moral of the story-be thankful for the little things we all take for granted.

My family and I have lived in Ventura County since 1996. I have a wife and 2 great kids aged 23 and 19. We love all the 805 area has to offer: Hiking trails, open space, beautiful parks, great restaurants, and best of all nice people. My guiding principle is doing whatever it takes to earn your business and always “do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do”.
