Ventura Creates! is a full service art supply store owned by artists for artists where “art and imagination” come together, they have a nice shopfront installation also. Ventura Creates! is owned by city of Ventura local Jill Lowry along with her father Kirk Lowry and his wife Iris Williams. In fact, Ventura Creates! is the “sister store” of Ojia Creates! which has been a key art supply source for artists in the City of Ojia for over the past 10 years.
Ventura Creates!, located at 2037 E. Thompson Blvd., Ventura, offers artist materials suitable for the beginning artist to the professional artist. Many of their supplies, such as, oils, acrylics, watercolor and pastels are available in professional as well as student grade which gives the professional artist materials they demand and the student the materials they can afford. They also create specialized packets of classroom supplies available to teachers making it extremely easy for their students to drop in and pick up all necessary supplies in one convenient package.
Ventura Creates sponsors several art contests throughout the year. They also offer ongoing children’s art classes on saturday afternoons along with “on a demand” art classes. In fact, Jill Lowry noted, “when we have client interest for a specific art class, we will immediatly find a teacher and schedule the class”. That kind of passion and customer service is the reason why Ventura Creates! holds such an intrigal place in our Ventura art community.
