On March 1st, 2010, Sam Cardamone took over what was known as Isabella Cucina and transformed the small Camarillo Pizzeria into an upscale Italian Restaurant. Originally from Southern Italy, Sam was surprised by the lack of contemporary true Italian dishes in the city of Camarillo. On his several visits from Arcadia to Camarillo, Sam noticed that residents of Camarillo had to travel to LA to enjoy what he calls “true Italian dishes.” Thus, Sam decided to save us some gas money and now offers the citizens of Camarillo authentic cuisine from Tuscany, Rome, Venice, Sicily and Genoa, Italy.
Sam, who is also the executive chef, believes in eating well and healthy cooking. That’s why all of Cucina 455’s dishes are prepared fresh from scratch and cooked with extra virgin olive oil. And for those patrons who are on a gluten-free diet, Cucina 455 offers gluten-free pasta dishes.
Sam’s love for cooking does not stop with his phenomenal Italian entrees. At Cucina 455 you can expect to taste some of the most delicious and bona fide Italian pastries. If you are not much into pastry, then you may want to try some of Cucina 455’s imported Sorbet or Gelato.
