Dr. Collins Joseph Sullivan, aka Joey The Drill, has been providing dental care in Ventura County since 1985. He has served in the California Army National Guard as a dental officer since 1988 and is a Veteran of the US Army Golby Clinic in Bagdad, Iraq. There is a total of 70 years of dental experience in Joe’s family, from his grandfather from Kansas City, Missouri to his older brother Dr. Michael Sullivan presently in Downey, CA.
In 1978 Joe graduated with his B.S. degree in Public Health Administration and then graduated from Howard University in Washington DC in 1984 (the 2nd oldest dental college in the US). He finished his general residency in the the same year at Jerry Pettis Veteran Hospital in Loma Linda, CA.
Dr. Sullivan’s dental office believes that treating their patients as special individuals is vital to their success. They understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how they can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience. Dr. Sullivan, himself, makes every effort to see and care for his patients as soon as possible.
Dr. Sullivan is well liked and respected in the community. He instantly makes others feel at ease with his gentle manner and fun sense of humor. His gentleness follows him into his dental office where his clients often comment how “lightly” he uses his hands and tools. He takes immense pride in his work and enjoys helping others.
Dr. Sullivan offers personalized after hours service and weekend appointments. He specializes in general dentistry, as well as cosmetic root canals and limited surgery. He does all of his own cleanings and works with children. Most insurances are accepted.
