There are an abundant number of martial arts studios in Ventura County. However, there are only a few martial arts studios such as Newbury Park Martial Arts Center (NPMAC) that combine physical and non-physical arts of self protection and self empowerment. By practicing To-Shin-Do, the professional educators at NPMAC teach their students the skills to discover their inner potential while becoming physically and emotionally more alert. To-Shin-Do is a style of martial arts, created by Stephen K. Hayes, based on an 1100 years of ancient Japanese Ninja training.
Based on the To-Shin-Do martial arts, NPMAC has developed organized curriculum for all ages, gender, and occupation. Also, the To-Shin-Do code of ethics is used at NPMAC as a guideline to help with the character development of all students.
Recently I had the opportunity to meet with Kriss Gakutoshi Hurdle, one of Newbury Park Martial Arts Center’s owners. As a mother Kriss truly understands the parents’ concern about their child’s physical and emotional safety. By teaching your child “violence-avoidance” and self defense techniques, along with composure, your child will develop into a master in the “art of winning”.
If you are seeking better health, techniques to reduce stress, and the ability to defend yourself or your loved ones, then I encourage you and your family to visit Newbury Park Martial Arts Center. NPMAC offers many classes and promotions through out the year. Just a word of caution; you might walk in as a student and walk out a few years later as a black-belt! :0)
